Pilgrimage At Home

In 2019 I walked the Camino to Santiago de Compostela in Spain. The Frances route from St Jean Pied de Port to Santiago de Compostela, an 800 km walk.

I was 600km into my walk when I picked up a very nasty gastro bug which got progressively worse to the point that I was unable to continue. I left Spain with many unanswered questions and frustrations as to why I did not get to finish my walk.

Over the following two years I processed this unfinished pilgrimage. We were in the middle of the Covid19 pandemic which kept us all sheltered. For most we were unable to leave our homes, visit friends and comfort friends and loved ones.

I completed my formation studies to become a Spiritual director and wrote my Special Interest paper on how to pilgrimage at home. it was an attempt to find space for those who really are unable to travel to distant lands to walk across Spain or even for some who cannot leave their neighborhoods.

It is my belief that we can live everyday with the heart and mind of a pilgrim.

I have included a part of my project here. If this resource resonates with you and you would like to interact with the information it contains I would be really happy to help you anyway I can.

Please get in touch with me so we can work together.

Here are options to do a self guided Pilgrimage at home.

If you choose to do this I would love to hear how you find it.
